White Lines
Strange- I feel I can relate entirely but at the same time not at all. Stories of pain and one's means of controlling that pain are all so different even when they appear the identical on the surface.
It takes a lot of courage to share something like this. Thank you.
I can't say I can relate directly, but a very close friend of mine has dealt with similar issues, and I completely understand the truth in the fact that something like this stays with you forever.
Thank you for sharing one of the darkest side of you. Thank you for this unique glimpse of candid truth. Sharing your nightmares intrigues me much more than sharing your dreams.
The mundane way the cutting began is interestingly juxtaposed to the intensity of the feelings that preceded the cutting. I really appreciate your matter-of-fact tone that refuses to apologize. It's a brave piece. I'd like to hear something about where your mom was, there's a pregnant pause in your voice when you say "my mom was out." Something about "out" struck me and I wanted to know more.
It's easy to not remember many of the tough times, your "white lines" and this story serve as a powerful and haunting reminder that we are always with ourselves. Really great story, thanks for sharing such an honest account of yourself. Please share more!
I appreciate the candidness that you expressed about a very sensitive, serious subject because it offers a glimpse into your soul and your emotions, but your account is pretty frightening, too.
Sorry to be all Magritte, but there seems to be an issue with the audio for this story. It sounds as if it is being played back at about 10x speed.
